Report: Prince Harry to Prepare for Iraq

A British newspaper reported Sunday that Prince Harry was scheduled to begin final training for deployment to Iraq with his army regiment, but the Defense Ministry said no decision had been made on whether he would be deployed.

The News of the World said the 22-year-old prince, who is third in line to the throne, would take part in a two-day pre-deployment course which includes instruction in basic Arabic phrases.

Harry, known as "Cornet Wales" by his Blues and Royals regiment, has trained to command 11 soldiers and four Scimitar tanks.

A Defense Ministry spokesman said the Blues and Royals were among a number of regiments being considered for deployment to Iraq in April.

Honor..bravery..country......difficult concepts that Bush Jr. and the other neocons avoided facing because they had more important things to do.

Keep in mind these are very important attributes to defend country, but not necessarily for optional, questionnable wars such as Iraq...which is what Bush and the neocons have immersed us.

It's not their fault their father dragged the UK into an illegal and immoral war. There's little honour in anyone volunteering to participate in this occupation, far less in the younger members of the Windsor family cutting their imperialist teeth.

Prince Harry will be caked in the same sand as private first class Joe Commoner and he'll be shot at with the same bullets and mortars and RPGs that are aimed at PFC Commoner. He'll go home in the same casket too should it come to that. Me thinks American elitists should share his sense of duty, honor, and sacrifice.

his uncle, Prince Andrew, flew helicopters as decoys for Exocet missiles during the Falklands war too. At Harry's prepared to go which is more than some in this administation can say.
