San Diego Union-Trib: Defense contractor ADCS losing Poway headquarters
By Dean Calbreath
STAFF WRITER

January 19, 2007

The headquarters of a Poway defense contractor at the center of the Randy “Duke” Cunningham corruption scandal will be put on the auction block Feb. 1 because of $12 million in unpaid debts.

In a legal announcement in yesterday's Poway News Chieftain community newspaper, Union Bank of California said it would sell the headquarters building of ADCS Inc. to the highest bidder.
Neither Brent Wilkes, the founder and owner of ADCS, nor his attorneys could be reached for comment late yesterday.

Over the past several months, Wilkes had been hoping to transfer the headquarters to the Poway School District through a complicated three-way transaction.

Wilkes' financial problems have been mounting for more than a year, since his name was linked to the Cunningham corruption scandal.

2. Yep, Wilkes is certainly paying for his ill-gotten gains.
Problem is so are the people who no longer have jobs and the city that doesn't get the tax revenue.

The lesson here is that white collar crime has deep and far-reaching effects. But Dear Leader fired the prosecutor because she didn't jail enough brown people for crossing the border improperly.
