1. Well, give North Texas a break:

of course there are more DNA exonerations here -- there are many, many more faulty convictions here than elsewhere. If California's criminal 'justice' system were as slipshod, then it would likely be winning the DNA-exoneration race. You can't expect to win if you haven't accomplished the basic groundwork.

2. Remember the defense lawyer that fell asleep...

during a Dallas area guy's trial?? The defendent tried to use it in his appeal, I think, but the court ruled that the lawyer was not asleep during "important moments" in the trial.
