White House must come clean in prosecutors' purge: Senator

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US Senate leader insisted Sunday that the White House needed to allay concerns over the firings of federal prosecutors, saying beleaguered Attorney General Alberto Gonzales appeared to remember little about the scandal.

"Someone had to come up with this scheme," Senator Chuck Schumer told Fox news about last year's sackings of eight prosecutors which were allegedly politically motivated.

"When Attorney General Gonzales says he doesn't know what's going on, and his chief of staff, Kyle Sampson, says he doesn't know what's going on, or at least he didn't compile the list ... the arrow seems to point at the White House more and more."

............."All of America saw why so many of us had felt for so long that he shouldn't be attorney general," Schumer told Fox news.

1. They are backing the WH into a corner...
Either the WH says "Oh, yes he did" and produces the docs that will fry gonzo or they will find themselves in an active defense, subpeonas and all.

2. You know what Tom....I think the answer and the final nail in the
coffin...lies in the 5 million emails that are either missing or not missing..depending on the day.

When they are produced I think we will see Cheney, definitely Rove and maybe indirectly "the decider" who probably was briefed on the situation.

I still owe a ring to you:-)

4. That's the Deal.
They are going to let the DoJ slide and allow Mr Goonzales to rot in his own fluids while redirecting the Klieg Lights on the White House.

They will all end up smelling of putrefaction.

Here's yer legacy, georgie.

6. Keep the pressure ON, Senator! Do NOT BACK DOWN ONE INCH.
Gonzo shouldn't be AG; Chimpy shouldn't be pResident; Cheney, DICK, shouldn't be VP; CondoSleaze-a shouldn't be SofS; KKKarl Rover the Attack Dog shouldn't be considered human....and on and on. And NONE of them should be walking around free like decent Americans; they should all be behind bars.
