1. I'm beginning to believe the Pentagon
prefers to have low death counts in its news releases. I just did the math on our troops;

365 X 4 = 1460 days in Iraq
3,300 casualties = 2.30 losses per day.

I've noticed that the large losses seem to get more news coverage. Like last week, when we lost 9 US troops + 2 lost later on. I think the shock factor is greater when you hear about 9 lost in one day.

The Pentagon likes the lower numbers. Even though the losses are every bit as bad per day.

2. I agree, they spread them out or group them all together
with different days, etc so it's hard for anyone to figure out what happened when.

3. That seems to be the pattern, Yes I agree.
Again, I think it's the slow & steady pace....

like the temperature of those frogs in a kettle. It's just a slow and steady escalation, or in this case it the relentless deaths.

Don Rumfailed even said one time, "Well, there are more deaths in this country due to car accidents, than in IRAQ". I believe they shut him up quickly on that asinine quote.

Actually, it's not even slow & steady because for several years, the statistic was around 1 US troop per day on average. It's obviously gone up.
