Fmr Bush Iraq Envoy Helping Undermine Maliki
Source: Iraq Slogger

Republican lobbyists with close ties to the Bush administration are aiding and supporting the efforts of an Iraqi opposition leader who is calling for the ouster of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

The anti-Maliki crusader is former Iraqi interim prime minister Ayad Allawi, and the Washington firm retained to spearhead U.S.-focused efforts on his behalf is the Republican powerhouse group of Barbour, Griffith, and Rogers (BGR).

BGR International's president is Robert Blackwill, the one-time White House point man on Iraq, holding the title of Presidential Envoy to Iraq in 2004.

...

IraqSlogger has learned BGR's work for Allawi includes the August 17 purchase of the Web site domain Allawi-for-Iraq.com.

In recent days, BGR sent hundreds of e-mail messages in Allawi's name from the e-mail address DrAyadAllawi@Allawi-for-Iraq.com.

1. Yeah, Allawi's been wheeling and dealing leading to this for 1 year+, right?
I'd almost like to see him try to beat Iraq into shape and see how well it goes.

Levin and Hillary at least said, parliament... but come on, this is Iraq. Coups are how real regime change is done.

to implement it.

The closest thing to that is the US military. What will happen, do you think, if the US military deposes the government installed by Iraqis' Shia community in exchange for a secular government headed by an executive who has no internal constituency in Iraq?

Will the Mahdi Army stand for it?
How about the Badr Corps?

It won't matter. The American public has had it with Iraq. It's a Soap Opera that never changes. New leader: same mess. Newer leader: even worse mess. It's over; we're finished in that country.

I didn't even need a crystal ball for that.

9. Powerhouse GOP firm working to undermine Iraqi PM
Source: CNN

CRAWFORD, Texas (CNN) -- A powerhouse Republican lobbying firm with close ties to the White House has begun a public campaign to undermine the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, CNN has confirmed.

A report by the U.S. intelligence community questions Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's ability to govern.

This comes as President Bush is publicly taking great pains to reiterate his support for the embattled Iraqi leader

10. The Bushies must wonder why their propaganda and undermining only works in Amerika and Iraq
Like Hitler, they probably cannot help but wonder why the rest of the world won't "get in line" (gleichschaltung) as easily as those two Third World Countries have.

Nazis and Bushies, they simply do not understand that propaganda has limits and even the stupidest, most apathtetic, most "Good German" people eventually grow immunity.

OTOH, maybe the Nazis and Bushies BOTH knew that, and that is why they both worked so feverishly around the clock to finish their plans and detsroy freedom (while speaking frequently of their love of it) so that it wouldn;t matter when the mass of people waking up reached critical.

11. "There's absolutely no involvement.": That's enough to believe the WH
is behind this. But, then the wily administration official throws in: "They're making a lot of money." Knowing the GOP has no problem with cannibalizing their own when it comes to money, one is left not knowing what to think.

17. Whenever George says one thing you can count on someone in
the WH or the cooperating departments of government or their partners to say the opposite. George plays video games until they need some prop for propaganda or some fund raising.

You can place your money on a bi-polar strategy being in progress when George speaks. It will be one of his legacies.

What a serial liar. Someone clue George in that he is a politician and he plays politics - very dirty ones.

20. When is this shit going to stop?
Lets just get out of this hell hole and quit wasting our time and money and lives. You cannot make a stable government out of an unstable society. The only way Iraq will stabilize is if a military strongman like Saddam takes control and beats down all his opposition. This is a fucking waste and the only reason we're staying is so the GOP can try and dump the blame for our eventual pullout on the next administration.

Documents obtained by IraqSlogger show Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki's chief Iraqi opponent, Ayad Allawi, is paying Washington lobbyists with close ties to the White House $300,000 to help with Allawi's efforts in the U.S. to promote himself and undermine Maliki.

They wanted him in in the first place. And Maliki wasn't even the guy who won the election. The Iraqi people voted for someone else - I can't even remember his name. One big money laundering scam.

22. ... getting ready to install a Nu-Saddam ...
... Leslie Blitzer was talking about it last night in his Situation Room: how we need a "Strong leader that's US friendly" in Iraq.

I'm sure that Bushco has been interviewing local warlords and negotiate a contract with them
just like they did when they installed Saddam all those years ago.

I hope whoever this guy is knows to watch his back cause we'll be coming to "liberate" the Iraqi people again in about 15-20 years.

Bush directed the Treasury Department to block the U.S.-based financial assets of anyone deemed to have threatened "the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq" or who "undermin(e) efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq."
UNDERMINING THE GOVERNMENT OF IRAQI PM CLEARLY THREATENS THE PEACE AND STABILITY OF THE GOVERNMENT OF IRAQ

With CNN finally showing some stones it's a good sign that some sanity will restored in the media.

Olbermann at MSNBC was the first to start the parade. If CNN starts acting responsibly then more will follow.

Oddly we can thank Michael Moore for starting the rejuvenation of CNN during his attack on Wolf Blitzer.
