Coleman: Craig's Conduct 'Unbecoming A Senator'
Source: WCCO News (Associated Press)

(AP) Boise, Idaho
Idaho Sen. Larry Craig's political support eroded significantly Wednesday as three fellow Republicans in Congress called for his resignation and party leaders pushed him from senior committee posts.

* * *

Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Norm Coleman of Minnesota joined Hoekstra in urging Craig to step down.

McCain spoke out on an interview with CNN. "My opinion is that when you plead guilty to a crime, you shouldn't serve. That's not a moral stand. That's not a holier-than-thou. It's just a factual situation."

Coleman said in a written statement, "Senator Craig pled guilty to a crime involving conduct unbecoming a senator."

2. Yes, well, Coleman has only one concern
His re-election campaign. And the conduct occurred at his home MSP airport, which republicans will be flying into en masse next summer. So Coleman really has no choice but to get ahead of story. Coleman is ethics free.

33. Last I heard, Coleman lead Franken by 10%.
Coleman started 20 points over Franken, and Franken's barely even trying right now. He hasn't even brought up Coleman's inaction re: Abramoff and the Marianas Islands.

...we have an excellent field of candidates for Coleman's seat (Al's not the only one running) so Franken might not even get the nomination.

8. It's Truly Amazing
Three "Christian" lawmakers and not one word of forgiveness from any of them, a lot of judgement, but no forgiveness.

I guess they forgot this from the Bible:Matthew 7:1-5 ”Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measurement ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote (speck) that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and them shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”

GOP senators say Craig should resign

By DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent 3 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Idaho Sen. Larry Craig's political support eroded by the hour on Wednesday as fellow Republicans in Congress called for him to resign and party leaders pushed him unceremoniously from senior committee posts.

The White House expressed disappointment, too — and nary a word of support for the 62-year-old lawmaker, who pleaded guilty earlier this month to a charge stemming from an undercover police operation in an airport men's room.

Craig "represents the Republican Party," said Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Michigan, the first in a steadily lengthening list of GOP members of Congress to urge a resignation.

The senator's spokesman declined comment. "They have a right to express themselves," said Sidney Smith. He said he had heard no discussion of a possible resignation.

16. how can craig's rise like a Phoenix
he can rise like a Phoenix from the fire, by admitting he is gay has always liked men and was held back by society and where he was born, then admit he is now openly gay and will fight for the rights of all human beings, the problem is he is a coward and will go back in the closet and become one of the walking dead.

28. not too long ago Normie
The Star Tribune this afternoon reported that Norm Sr., a decorated veteran, was busted for lewd conduct and indecent exposure for allegedly having sex with a 38-year-old in a car outside a pizza parlor.

http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2006/07/battle_of_the_bulge_indeed.php

Norm Coleman´s 81-year-old father was caught yesterday having sex with a 38-year-old in a car parked outside a pizzeria. (We suspect “having public sex” is really a misnomer for something that was far less tandem in nature, but there it is.)

When questioned about his father´s arrest, Norm Coleman said he is “disturbed” by the news.
