Bin Laden 'alive', 'recruiting'
Bin Laden 'alive', 'recruiting'

OSAMA bin Laden was probably still alive and al-Qaeda was recruiting new followers in Arab countries and Europe, Germany's foreign spy chief said today.

At the same time, Western spy agencies have noted an increase in worldwide communications among members of the terrorist network "in recent weeks and months", said August Hanning, head of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service.

"We see no all-clear signal at this time. Rather, we are seeing an increase in (terrorist) activities," Hanning said in a speech to a security conference in Berlin.

He said bin Laden and his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, were suspected of being holed up in the Afghan-Pakistani border area, southeast of the Afghan capital Kabul.

"Based on several clues, we assume that bin Laden and al-Zawahiri are still in this region," he said, without giving details.

The United States has said it does not know whether bin Laden, whom it blames for last year's September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, is dead or alive.

Guess we'd better look for him in Cuba or N. Korea too.

3. These days, he probably can't keep up with his voicemail, E-Mail!
These days, with all the "advertising" that we're doing to help recruit
crazies to his cause, he probably can't keep up with his voicemail and
E-Mail!

(Plus the mail he gets from those guys in Nigeria who only want to
help give him some money from "their" bank accounts.)

that the author talks about "last year's September 11 attacks".... is this article really that old, or do they just need a new editor? :eyes:

8. and to think we provided
content of the recruiting footage. All the stuff that was too upsetting to show the American viewers who were home waving their flags.
