BEDFORD, N.H. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry outlined a plan on Wednesday to protect workers' rights as a new poll showed him slipping further behind in New Hampshire's first state primary later this month.
Building on economic initiatives announced on Monday, Kerry proposed creating a White House ``pocketbook watchdog'' to guard Americans' pensions, protect their personal information from identify theft and ensure fair lending and housing.

The New Hampshire tracking poll, conducted Jan. 4-6, found Dean leading the Democratic field with 36 percent, followed by Clark at 16 percent and Kerry at 13 percent.
A week ago, the same tracking poll found Kerry in second place with 17 percent and Clark third with 12 percent.
