CNN: 2nd head rolls after fake FEMA briefing
Source: CNN

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Aaron Walker, press secretary for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, submitted his resignation to FEMA administrator David Paulison Wednesday, according to a FEMA official.

Walker is the second FEMA press official to suffer the repercussions of a staged FEMA news conference during the California wildfires. The official will not say whether Walker was asked to resign or did so voluntarily. His resignation becomes effective in early December.

John "Pat" Philbin, FEMA's director of external affairs, left his job two days after the news conference to become head of public affairs for the Director of National Intelligence. That job offer, however, was rescinded as Philbin's role in the press conference became clearer.

The FEMA official said that Philbin and Walker bore the "greatest degree of responsibility for the planning and execution" of the press conference.

Thank God this guy is gone. It was the most unbelievable thing I had seen in a long time.

1. FWIW, the only reason they are gone is because they got caught.
That may be a case of the tail wagging the dog but my cynical old self feels that this was SOP for this gang.

And the sheeple just lap it up.

2. Resigning to spend more time with FEMA employees impersonating his family, no doubt.

3. So the Deputy Director, the Admiral, THE FAKE INTERVIEWEE, is off the hook?
Typical of the Bush cabal.

The higher ups take no responsibility and the underlings are scapegoated.
