Godiva recalls X'mas chocolates in Europe and Asia
Source: Reuters

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Godiva Chocolatier is recalling Christmas chocolates in Asia and Europe after metal fragments were found in some of its products in Japan, an executive from the company said on Saturday.

John Holmberg, managing director of the chocolatier in Pacific Rim, told Reuters it was withdrawing one batch of a product as two pieces of metal were discovered last month in two boxes of the chocolate made in France and sold in Japan.

"There's been no injuries of any kind...But we thought it best to recall the entire batch just to be on the safe side," he said. "We're investigating the cause of the problem."

Godiva Chocolatier is a unit of Campbell Soup Co.

1. Wow, with a name like Godiva, it's got to be shrapnel
Should I ask the obvious question?

5. I wonder how big they are
At least they're being prudent and recalling the chocolate now, before someone possibly gets hurt.

Love love love their chocolate strawberries.

Good to see them taking this cautionary approach.

9. If it doesn't contain lead...
I'm sure the FDA would be fine with them selling it in the US.

20. Raspberry Truffles
rolled in rough sugar were my favorites...alas that they make them no longer.

I suppose you could blend your chocolates and then pass a magnet over the slurry....
