Political mailing turns up after election

MANCHESTER – The U.S. Postal Service is investigating a complaint about political postcards that were never mailed before last month's elections.

Peter Sullivan, who narrowly won the city's Ward 3 alderman seat from incumbent Pat Long, said about 75 postcards stamped and sent to the Goffe's Falls Road office before Nov. 1 were returned to him unmailed Monday.

"There is something about it that doesn't smell right," said Sullivan, a Democrat. "I'm going to ask for an investigation.

"I'm going to speak with the local postmaster first," he said. "Beyond that, I'm planning on calling the postal investigators."

1. I never even received my sample ballot!

Here in NJ- last election the sample ballot showed up AFTER the election.

This time, just on the Saturday before the Tuesday election.

I am working on it...........been in contact with my local Reps, the post office, the election board and today will be calling the county elected officials.

I posted all this in the NJ forum hoping to get an idea about the occurrence in other counties and have not had one response. Disappointed in my fellow NJ Duers. But, I shall continue on my own!

Election Board blaming it on the Post Office. I am NOT buying it.

Seriously, though, keep fighting. This sort of crap has to stop. I don't care if a candidate is a Democrat, Republican, Independent, Parti Quebecois, Sinn Fein, Baath, or Very Silly Party, they deserve to be heard without interference from people who abuse the public trust.
