Obama opens double-digit lead over Clinton
Source: CNN.COM

Two days before New Hampshire's Democratic primary, Sen. Barack Obama has opened a double-digit lead over Sen. Hillary Clinton in that state, a new CNN-WMUR poll found Sunday.

Obama, the first-term senator from Illinois who won last week's Iowa caucuses, led the New York senator and former first lady 39 percent to 29 percent in a poll conducted Saturday and Sunday -- a sharp change from a poll out Saturday that showed the Democratic front-runners tied at 33 percent.

Support for former Sen. John Edwards, who edged out Clinton for second place in Iowa, dropped from 20 percent in Saturday's poll to 16 percent.

4. The anti-Hillary vote may be coalescing around Obama. Her best bet was to split that vote.

7. That ruffling sound is the pigeons coming home to roost.
I guess she thought she thought the Left would have nowhere to go but with her, and that appears to be a catastrophic miscalculation for her campaign, and possibly her career.

10. That was exactly her calculation
The numbers revealed there are more Independents, and add that number to disgruntled Republicans who might come over, the total greatly exceeds the number of liberals. So that was how she cast her net, to fish for Independents and disgruntled Republicans, deliberately deciding to sacrifice the liberal vote.

11. It's time to be honest with ourselves
1) Obama is by far the most charismatic candidate since Kennedy.
2) While people on DU might vote on issues, most voters vote on Charisma.
3) In the Iowa caucases, 2x more people came out voting democratic.
4) Trend 3 will continue and is not getting the press it deserves yet, but it will.

Seriously, its not that tough. Read the 4 above points, like it or not, and realize that Obama will be the next president.

Also, Obama, being a smart guy, would do well to tap someone like Gore as VP. Throw green into his change message, then its a wrap ladies and gentlemen.

13. I think Edwards should be on the ticket
He is a great attack dog, a perfect role for the VP. Once in the White House, Edwards can take the point on health care.

15. I very much like that idea as well, if only Edwards would accept the VP slot on the ticket.
If so, we could be seeing at least 12-16 years of Democrat administrations, and I can't even fucking believe I am typing this, given the degree of disillusionment lately.
