Bush ends peace mission without breakthroughs
Source: Yahoo News

TEL AVIV (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush wrapped up his mission to Israel and the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, emboldened enough to have predicted a peace treaty within a year but with no major breakthroughs for his efforts.

Concluding his first presidential visit to the Holy Land, Bush headed for Kuwait, the first of five stops with Arab allies he hopes will aid the fragile peace process and help contain Iran's growing regional clout.

Bush flew out of Tel Aviv after painting an upbeat picture from talks this week with Israeli Prime Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas intended to build on a U.S.-hosted international peace conference in November.

Challenging skeptics of his new diplomatic push, Bush said on Thursday he believed there would be a signed peace treaty by the time he left office in January 2009.

4. But since there is
no all-out war, the mission must be considered a success. We live in a world of diminished expectations when it comes to US Diplomacy.

5. He's left it a little late to do much in that area. Right after he took
office he threw them a road map and told them to get their act together. Not surprisingly, that didn't have much effect. Now, he suddenly needs a legacy because everything else he has touched has turned to shit. I suppose that this is the only area left that he hasn't actively screwed up yet, so this is his last chance to make himself a hero. He'll make a few half-hearted efforts and claim success.

11. You nailed it granny
This SOB is only trying to have something...anything to point to to claim some succes at something...anything. And his creepy den of advisors figured that claiming peace between Israel and the Palestinians would be the perfect claim. Bush the peacemaker...visionary...blah blah blah. This whole middle east romp is a sickening display of calculated words, fake tears and pretend accomplishments. Except of course his desire to get some kind of backing to drop more bombs on more innocent people in Iran...that is real.

Bush has nothing but absolute failure to show in his 7 years of incompetence and Fratto and all the other Bush handlers are trying desperately to hold up anything they can to prevent his legacy from being that of the most incompetent, immoral and criminal presidency in the history of this now shattered nation.
