Two blasts in Iraq kill eight U.S. troops

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Two bombings in separate Iraq provinces on Monday killed eight U.S. troops, the U.S. military said.

A roadside bomb killed three U.S. soldiers and an interpreter in Diyala province, which has been a major front in the war during the "surge" of U.S. troops fighting insurgents near the capital.

Seems like the surge did its job of kicking the war off the front headlines. Now the insurgents have reconstituted and the bogus gains are going to fall under a wave of new violence against our soldiers.

Sorry to say that even eight more dead barely raises attention these days.

RIP, troops. I only wish I coud personally kick the ass of every person who voted for four more years of Bush/Cheney. :-(
