UPIWASHINGTON, April 14 (UPI) -- The Bush administration is looking for ways the United States can help meet the food need of some countries, a White House spokesman said Monday.
President George W. Bush has asked his national security advisers, the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development to see what the United States can do to help ease the food crisis in the near term, spokeswoman Dana Perino said during a media briefing.
"And then over the long run, the source problems will need to be identified, the source of where the food is, so that there's a long-term plan in place that helps take care of the world's poor and hungry," Perino said.
The United Nations has warned that rising food prices threaten the poor worldwide, and the World Bank is warning that the crisis could lead to "seven lost years" in fighting global poverty.

That's generous, after all, 'our' USDA solved the hunger problem here back in November when saying 'hunger' is not a scientific term that can be measured. Now, Americans just 'experience' levels of food security.
What's your food security level?
