McCain: It can be “tough” to be proud of USA
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON - Republican presidential candidate John McCain admitted on Saturday it can be difficult at times to be proud of the United States.

“I’ll admit to you … that it’s tough in some respects,” McCain said when asked by a questioner at a town hall meeting how to be proud of the country.

“We have not always done things right and we mismanaged the war in Iraq very badly for nearly four years.”

McCain’s wife, Cindy, pounced on Michelle Obama, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama, for saying in February that she was proud of her country “for the first time in my adult life.”

The pin negates any bad feelings toward the U.S.

30. but he's not wearing a flag pin... ;-)

But this is really just a "senior moment," which you can't hold against him at all. That's why, when Michelle Obama said something similar, the RW said it proved she was an America-hating, latte-sipping, pinko commie Muslimonazi. She's young and still has a clear head, so she knew what she was saying. McCain doesn't know what he's saying (but if you say that disqualifies him to be president, then you're an age-ist).

would pounce on Obama if he ever would come close to saying:

“We have not always done things right......"

But a repub says it and all is okay :-(

10. Cindy the "C"

Was that McCain’s wife, "the trollop that applies her makeup with a spackling knife", the "C" word that pounced on Michelle? I'm sure that she must be proud to hear her man refer to her lovingly as a "C."

14. She is the epitome of the 'me' culture
whereas Michelle is a wonderful example of what a human being should be.
The Cindy incident with her 'charity' just so she could skim drugs is really ugly both for her and her boy toy.

17. Sometimes a little truth slips out
But hypocrisy will never stop a freeper from attacking someone if the opportunity presents itself.

Why? Because capturing the sound bite is easy, as is using it in commercials or repeating it over and over in speeches.

But explaining anything takes time and money and requires an audience willing to listen for more than 15 seconds.

Politico: McCain doesn't pick up on Michelle Obama joke

So a man finally got a question into McCain and he had a very different sort of question.

The questioner noted that he had been educated at Princeton and Harvard and made more than $300,000 a year.

"How can I be proud of my country?" he asked.

Get it — he was mocking Michelle Obama and her statement earlier this year that her husband had for the first time in her life made her proud of her country.

How hilariously ironic that the questioner was being overly clever in trying to deride Michelle Obama, so clever that his dim-witted candidate didn't pick up on it and jumped into the hole that the questioner *thought* he was digging for Michelle.

21. How does Cindy feel about being courted by a man who
dumped his wife even though she remained loyal to him during his POW years, but was 4" shorter than when he left because of operations due to a tragic auto accident? This first wife had multiple operations and still finds it difficult to walk. As far as I know, the first wife never got addicted to pain medication in spite of her pain and her disfigurement.

26. Why does McCain hate America
Some people just cannot get enough saying bad things about the country they live in.

Of course, he is talking about the things his republican party have done in the last eight years.

He is talking about the things his friend and president have done.

As one of the managers of his precious war, McCain has a lot of gall to run for president after admitting the terrible job he's done.
