Tony Blair's sister in law stranded in Gaza

JERUSALEM (AP) - The sister in law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair says she is among four foreign activists blocked from leaving the Gaza Strip by Israel and Egypt.

Lauren Booth says she has been trying to leave Gaza since Friday. But she says she has been turned away at Israeli and Egyptian border crossings.

Booth was among 46 international protesters who sailed into Gaza on August 23 in defiance of an Israeli blockade. Most of the protesters left Gaza on the same boats last Thursday and sailed to Cyprus. But Booth and several other activists chose to remain behind.

Booth says she is working with British diplomats at «the highest levels.» She says she has not spoken to Blair. The former British leader now serves as an international Mideast peace envoy.

Israel says it has not been formally approached by Britain.

1. Why won't Egypt let her pass through?
Why is Britain appealing to Israel and not Egypt?

Is her safety threatened?

2. Egypt closed its border with Gaza obeying Israel's embargo
Gaza has been isolated once again totally dependent upon receiving their food and supplies from Israel.

3. You're kidding, right?
But, in the event you're not, here's a free bit of Middle East education:

Israel -- not Egypt -- occupied and continues to control the Gaza Strip. So, if you want to get out of it, you have to get Israel to let you out.

4. 100% correct, the reporting that takes place by the MSM is one reason people
are not aware.

7. Here is a free bit of Middle East Education for you
Israel withdrew from Gaza two years ago.

Since then, Hamas took over and started shelling Israeli towns daily, arrested and terrorized and killed members of the Patah party. Beats trying to start a working community, at peace with its neighbors, I suppose.

And if these people went against Israeli blockades then they have no one to blame but themselves. Whatever happened to people taking responsibility for their actions?

Just like that Rachel something who stood in front of a bulldozer where the driver could not see her and then got run over.

Let's see all these people trying to protest in any of the Arab countries. They will be thrown to jail at no time with no access to phones, or the media.

6. Well, what did she expect? Hello, there, sis...you're a foreign activist in a terrorist area?
And you are surprised you're having trouble getting out?

(must be hard luggin' that big brain around all day)
