Obama accuses Republicans of 'swift boat politics'
Source: CNN

- Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday accused Sen. John McCain's campaign of engaging in "lies" and "swift boat politics" in regard to his comment about "lipstick on a pig."

"We have real problems in this country right now. The American people are looking to us for answers, not distractions, not diversions, not manipulations. They want real answers to the real problems we are facing.

"I don't care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and swift boat politics. Enough is enough," he said, referring to how Swift Boat Veterans for Truth launched attacks against Sen. John Kerry in the 2004 presidential race. ...

1. lipstick on a pig
Seriously...it's the truth!! Republicans can easily distract
the simple minded people that support them with name calling;
but they can dish it out but can't take it!! They ignore the
issues that smart people..like democrats....care about!!

6. NO APOLOGIES.
Screw that. When John McCain apologizes to Hillary Clinton (and I was no fan of Hillary, but it applies in this case) then Obama can apologize to the Hockey mom/pitbull. Sounds like she is a scaredy cat to me. Politics is a full contact support. If she can't play with the big dogs, don't get off the porch. Pit bull, indeed.

14. We know this because her spokesperson tells us so . . .
She won't even speak to the press long enough to get a good whimper going.

And I don't think she's particularly building up any deferrence with the press by waiting to talk to them . . .

17. McCain is a lying hypocrite
Here... read this: http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/10/mccain_rolls_out_health_plan_a.html

McCain said on October 11th, 2007 while criticizing Hillary Clinton's health care plan:

"My friends, we are approaching a 'perfect storm' of problems that, if not addressed by the next president, will cause our health-care system to implode," McCain said in using a Teleprompter to deliver his proposal.

"I believe Americans want to be part of a system that offers high quality care, that respects their individual dignity and is available at reasonable cost," the Arizona senator said. "Unfortunately, the American health care system as it is currently structured fails this test."

McCain criticized Democratic contenders for offering what he called costly universal health care proposals that require too much government regulation. While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton's health-care plan, he said it was "eerily reminiscent" of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the early 1990s.

"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," he said of her proposal.

There it is. McCain, on October 11th, 2007, said: I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. And for he and his campaign team to attack Obama for the same quote... is shameless swift boat politics.

Obama should offer no apology and call out these Republican liars on what they really are.

18. If this is how Obama responded to McAnus' kindergarten sex education ad, WE ARE FUCKED.
All you sweet, kind-hearted bleeding heart liberals out there might think them's fighting words, but I'm tellin ya the rest of the country ain't gonna be impressed with Obama's toughness.

McAnus says Obama wants to teach our children sex education BEFORE they learn to read and this is the level of the Obama campaign's response. Pitiful.

John Kerry, would you please call Barack Obama and tell him how you felt the morning you conceded defeat to Karl Rove, so Obama can start writing up his "heal America concession speech."
