McCain suspends campaign, Obama plans to continue
Edited on Wed Sep-24-08 04:52 PM by soulcore
Source: CNN

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain announced Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign to return to Washington and focus on the "historic" crisis facing the U.S. economy.

Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama said at a news conference later Wednesday that he and McCain had spoken by phone and had agreed to issue a joint statement about shared principles in the approach to resolving the economic crisis.

But he disagreed with McCain's call for postponing Friday's first presidential debate in Oxford, Mississippi.

That's it, I'm convinced he's either senile or on so many downers he won't even be coherent enough to debate.

5. Lay that King down
Because you are about to be checkmated!

Regarding McCain's call to join him in Washington to help participate in the debate over the economic recovery plan, Obama said, "If I can be helpful then I'm prepared to be anywhere, any time ... don't want to infuse Capitol Hill with presidential politics."

There is a lot of silliness in that article like MCCain canceling his Late Show appearance and a quote from Dana Perino.

6. "SUSPENSDED"
Does this mean Obama can claim the Presidency by acclamation.

I'm half serious.

As a person with a master's in political history, this is the silliest thing I have ever heard or read in my life. The warrior wars...no more?

Which American people do they think they are talking about, and weren't the R's trying to keep Bush out of it.

17. Fork meet entree
This dish is done. The effect of seeing "McCain suspends campaign" is so bad, so detrimental, that there's not enough lipstick in the world to make that pig pretty. My friends, work with a light heart and a good will for the next six weeks, because we're about to see a landslide election of historic proportions.

30. Obama better not do the same...
he can go and vote or whatever, but his ass better keep on the campaign trail. This makes McInsane/Mosseilini look very, very weak. What exactly is McInsane going to do? Get in the way is the only thing I can think of. There is no good reason for Mcinsane to do what he is doing...just makes him look weak and unwilling to debate Obama, because they all know his ass is going to be beat down by Obama.

He's scared shitless to debate Obama. He's looking for an excuse. He thinks congress can't work without him. Where has he been ALL week. Oh campaigning that's right. That's fine let Obama have the stage and have the audience ask questions of him. John McCain the new Jesus Christ. He's our martyr.

34. And he realized this historic" crisis just right after Obama called
him. What a coincidence. Where was this "doer" yesterday? Or before yesterday? Then it was no a crisis? Or not historic?
