10. CNBC: "John McCain decides to attend tonight's Presidential Debate".
Uh, excuse me?

As if "well, you know, I got nothing ELSE going on after all .. . my schedule's freed up. Guess I'll show up after all . . . "????

Wow. Thanks, John. You know, it's not as if you're a PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE or anything. We'll give you some complimentary beverages upon entrance.

another tantrum ...more attention

even negative attention is attention...and McCain's mind has regressed back to that stage

16. dont forget hes a maverick...polite term for his spoiled childish way of getting attention ..
the more he is revealed the more i dislike him...he is not a hero to me...I'm sorry...he lies and lies and serves up petty constantly....what kind of hero is that?..yet everyone defers to his war record...the "now" of McCain makes my skin crawl and its humiliating that he is a role model to anyone.

14. so in other words mclame was full of shit.
I'm soooooooooooooo surprised.

his little antic wasn't paying off the way he thought it was going to, so now he has to be an adult and attend. Otherwise, he would give Obama a free 90 minute boost for his campaign.

Like I said before, mclame is done. He has officially jumped the shark. He choked and all the world saw it happen.

24. McCain To Attend Tonight's Debate
Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. John McCain said he's going to be at the first presidential debate, even though Congress doesn't have a bailout deal.

With less than 10 hours until the debate was scheduled to start, the McCain campaign announced that the Arizona senator would travel to the University of Mississippi. The campaign said that after the forum he will fly back to Washington to continue working on the financial crisis.

The campaign's statement said McCain is optimistic that there has been progress toward a bipartisan agreement. But earlier in the week, McCain said he would delay the debate "until we have taken action to address this crisis."

Meanwhile, his rival, Sen. Barack Obama, was preparing to fly out of Washington late Friday morning. Obama earlier said he and McCain should be able to handle the 90-minute forum and the financial crisis at the same time.

28. This ploy reminds me of a child's temper tandrum
If you step over them, when they are lying in the floor screaming, and ignore, them eventually they have to get themselves up and figure out why the drama didn't work.

McCain tried the tandrum, now knows it didn't work. I am sure he'll surprise us with this, in another form in the next few days.

This describes his antics pretty well:

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-welch26-2008sep26,0,3697752.story

When McCain feels like he's failing, he pulls a publicity stunt. We've seen it time and time again, and if he's elected, we should expect more of the same. He's the opposite of a "straight talker".
