The Federal Election Commission took steps today to erase all memory of the so-called Millionaire's Amendment, by issuing proposed changes to the federal code that would strip out any reference to the provision.

The amendment, designed to make it easier for candidates facing self-funded opponents to raise money, was enacted five years ago as part of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act. But the Supreme Court struck down the provision in June, ruling that it imposed extra reporting requirements on wealthy candidates that are unconstitutional. ...
