Package Scare at Congressman's Office Turns Out To Be Pork
Source: Local 12.com

A suspicious package found at Congressman John Boehner's campaign office on Cincinnati Dayton Road turns out to be a package of bacon.

The envelope arrived with this afternoon's mail. It was from Georgia, and had a stain on it.

The Butler County Hazardous Material team was called to examine the package.

Boehner's office was evacuated, as were the two office condos on either side of the condo.

Congressman Boehner is also the House Minority Leader.

8. Try delivering an email instead...
before the vote...I had sent a note to my congress critters to vote no, please...then before they voted...they sent me notes giving me all sorts of excuses as to why they might not listen to what I asked...ok...AFTER the vote, 2 voted yes, and one voted no...I tried to respond...actually the day of the vote, I tried to call...no access, tried to send a note, no access...OK...so after I made sure I knew how my rep voted...I was pretty perturbed, and decided he was going to get an earful...it only took me 9 drafts before I was happy with my response to his response to my request to vote no...and the fact that he voted for the bailout in spite of it all...soooooo, I finally got the email sent...TO THE ADDRESS that my Rep's note came from....Pleased that I had finally succeeded in getting a note constructed and sent off to him...I went to bed...guess what? next day...in my spam folder...is my returned, undeliverable note...the user was unknown...or the box was full...kinda funny how they get to say what they want to us, but when we want to tell them how we feel...the box is full...send the son of a guns pork...at least they get the message that way...wb

13. I remember when the price of beef went way up
back in the Nixon administration, and people would mail a pound of ground round to their congressman's office as a protest! That was back when we had Johnny Carson's great humor leading the Tonight Show, and he said about the economic troubles of the time, "I have no beef with Richard Nixon."

12. Well, it makes sense. It was pork, afterall.
He should've known what it was, given how much he's slipped into spending bills in his tenure.
