Investigator nears completion of Troopergate’ interviews
Source: Boston Herald

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — With his Troopergate report due Friday, legislative investigator Steve Branchflower appears to have the makings of a fairly complete account, despite weeks of resistance from the Palin family and administration.

Branchflower has, or soon will have, answers from nearly all the people he’d hoped to question regarding Gov. Sarah Palin’s firing in July of former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.

Some of the final witnesses include seven state employees, including the governor’s chief of staff, who lost a court fight to kill subpoenas Branchflower obtained through the Alaska Senate Judiciary Committee to compel their testimony.

This week the seven are answering a list of questions known as interrogatories. The answers are submitted under oath.

2. She was completely within her rights to do what she did just not ethically.
She committed no crime unless not answering a subpoena can be construed to be such..

3. I think obtaining personel records for purposes
of personal vendetta's might be illegal. I also believe that such an abuse of power is not merely an ethical but likely a legal issue.

4. Wow are you wrong.
NO elected official in any state or federal jurisdiction has the authority to fire any subordinate for personal reasons. They may remove subordinates for just cause but just like the illegal firings of several federal attorneys for not persecuting Dems, Palin illegally fired Monagan and could face jail time for having done so.

Sorry, you're just wrong.

5. She does not have to give any reason
Any commissioner serves at the pleasure of the Governor. Nobody is saying she committed any crimes here. They are investigating to see if there was an abuse of power but that is entirely an ethical issue.

6. Really?
Outed ourselves did we, Winterblues?

Sure, "stupid" isn't technically a crime. (Palin breaths sigh of relief)
But I'm sure they can find a few misdemeanors in there beyond the
wrongful termination, don't ya figure?

Because I don't think Palin has been intelligent or careful in the slightest.
So I don't think her delusion that God will protect her
from her own malfeasance is going to help her either.

And have you noticed recently how the stupid broad just loves
to play with matches and other incendiaries? Do you really
figure she's actually smart enough to handle that stuff?

They should just arrest her, sort out the charges later.
You know, after the election.
:applause:

7. I totally agree with you about her smarts
If she had half a brain she would habve just said Hell yes I wanted him canned. there is more than ample evidence the trooper was derilict and abusive. However she tried to hide her invovement. It is always the cover-up. However that being said I have not heard a single person say they are looking for a crime committed. They are after her for unethical behavior and abuse of Power. Neither is a crime but can be cause for Impeachment..

16. There wasn't ample evidence of him being abusive
It was an accusation made by McCann the day of the divorce proceedings. She didn't bring any of this stuff up until the divorce. As a trooper the only complaints about him came from the McCann family during the divorce.

17. ok. how about misuse of government funds, tax evasion,...
not to mention spitting the sidewalk (4 witnesses).

When a person is as careless, clueless, abusive, narsisistic,
as Sarah Palin, shows such little regard for the dignity or
rights of others, and believes and boasts that she can do
anything she wants until a COURT tells her different,

well, lets just say that it is not in her nature to walk even one
tiny Wasilla block without denting or breaking some law or other.

Nothing criminal? Give me a break.

8. Despite Palin resistance, 'troopergate' report to come Friday
Source: McClatchy Newspapers

With his "troopergate" report due Friday, legislative investigator Steve Branchflower appears to have the makings of a fairly complete account, despite weeks of resistance from the Palin family and administration.

Branchflower has, or soon will have, answers from nearly all the people he'd hoped to question regarding Gov. Sarah Palin's firing in July of former Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.

Some of the final witnesses include seven state employees, including the governor's chief of staff, who lost a court fight to kill subpoenas Branchflower obtained through the Alaska Senate Judiciary Committee to compel their testimony.

The seven this week are answering a list of questions known as interrogatories. The answers are submitted under oath.

Another key witness, Todd Palin, the governor's husband, also is answering a list of questions in writing, and has a deadline of today to turn them in.

A legislative panel has scheduled a meeting for 9 a.m. Friday to receive Branchflower's report on Monegan's firing and whether Palin or members of her administration abused their powers in pushing for the dismissal of a state trooper involved in a child-custody fight with the governor's sister.

11. Perhaps, just perhaps - the Good People of Alaska are sick of Palin. She's embarrassing
them beyond their wildest nightmares.

Enough! Alaska is truly the last great frontier - MAYBE we can see some JUSTICE?

13. Now why did they have to kiss and tell - now FOX has 3 days to work the spin!
I'll save Hannity some trouble - Steve Branchflower once sat on a plane only THREE ROWS BACK from a guy who was in Iran once and MIGHT have been on official TERRORIST business, so HOW can you TRUST this Steve guy?

Nah, FOX won't come up with anything that intelligent. They certainly wouldn't broadcast it.
