Pentagon sees reconciliation with Taliban, not Qaeda
Source: Reuters

The United States would be prepared to reconcile with the Taliban if the Afghanistan government pursued talks to end the war, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Thursday.

But he said Washington would not consider any negotiations with al Qaeda.

Gates said reconciliation would be the political end to the insurgency and war in Afghanistan. But he said reconciliation must be on the Afghan government's terms and the Taliban must commit to subject itself to the sovereignty of the government.

"There has to be ultimately, and I'll underscore ultimately, reconciliation as part of a political outcome to this," Gates told reporters after his first day of NATO meetings in Budapest about the Afghanistan war.

1. Reconciliation with the Taliban?
Now if Obama had proposed this, what do you think the reaction would be?

7. They will be again legally relagated to slave status
confined to homes, never to be seen or heard, sold, bartered and traded like donkeys. Murdered and raped for fun and revenge. Bred like animals, kept illiterate, deprived of even basic medical care.

The Taliban are monsters.

8. Neville Chamberlain and Barack Obama have absolutely NOTHING in common
And Obama never once proposed making peace with the Taliban. The only reason that this is being considered is because all that BushCo cares about is a stable country that they can run an oil pipeline through. They've proven that they don't give two shits about justice and freedom.
