McCain guarantees victory

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., addresses AP – Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., addresses supporters during a campaign rally …

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he can “guarantee” a win on Nov. 4 in a squeaker victory that won’t be clear until late that night.

McCain spoke amid signs of a tightening race, and reports of renewed determination among his staff, which is badly outgunned in both money and manpower.

“I guarantee you that two weeks from now, you will see this has been a very close race, and I believe that I'm going to win it,” McCain told interim "Meet" moderator Tom Brokaw. “We're going to do well in this campaign, my friend. We're going to win it, and it's going to be tight, and we're going to be up late.”

McCain was down just 5 points in the Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released Sunday, with Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) leading by 49 percent to 44 percent among likely voters in the daily tracking poll, which has a margin of error of 2.9 points.

37. Some weird things happened in the primaries and in 2004 but
Edited on Tue Oct-28-08 05:47 PM by Tiggeroshii
One things for certain: In the states where any candidate was averaging in RCP's polls by 50% or more, they won those states. True in the primaries, and definitely true to the 2004 election. There might be some irregularities, we might even lose a state or two we were expecting to win, but overall if we keep getting people out to vote and keep going door to door, and don't declare this thing won until the final vote comes in, we very likely win. I guarantee it! =)

I sure hope that Obama truly does have an army of lawyers in place to stop them.

13. If they do steal this, there will be a violent revolution.
The people against law enforcement. The people will be split and law enforcement will be split. Think of the blacks, the unions, the students, and the disenfranchised. A few weeks of violent rioting and the government would have to negotiate for peace. Obama will be president. It is over. Stealing it would only delay it at what a price?

Just before Rove and the Republicans had their a**es handed to them.

these fuckers are just swinging their middle fingers at the American people. I really don't want to see what will happen if they try to steal this one and actually get away with it.

17. Actually, in reading the quote he's not guaranteeing victory. Just that we'll all "see."
We'll all "see" how close the race has been, :eyes:, and he "believes" he's going to win.

Given the GOP history of election-stealing, this is still a statement that makes me wary; on the other hand, it reads as closer to down-with-the-ship bravado.

I repeat: Fuck.

Remember Bush saying that his brother Jeb had "promised" him he'd deliver Florida?

Once more, with emphasis, for effect: FUCK.

24. Yep, sounds like the fix is in.
Husband says if McCain steals the election, people will be

rioting in the streets. I feel Americans have become so

comfortable and complacent they will just shrug their

shoulders and take it like they did in 2000 and 2004.

We will see.

25. I see.
It'll be a squeaker. It'll be so close that it won't be clear who won 'til late that night...

But John McCain guarantees he'll win.

Interesting. How could one possibly know that sort of outcome in advance unless one was cheating.

29. Reminds me of that strange occurance on election night 2000
when Bush and his wife and parents came on TV and assured everyone he would win Florida.

I'm really hoping Obama's team is ready to take McCain on if he tries to steal this one.

We cannot allow them to do it again, we MUST NOT!
Keep your eye on the ball, and we WILL WIN.

Don't take anything for granted till the polls close on the west coast (Sorry Alaska and Hawaii, but your votes may not be needed, but you never know, so, JUST GO VOTE!!)
