1. You don't know how awesome you are for posting this.

I found out last week that a family member I adore has Neurofibromatosis and kyphosis. I forwarded this article. I think this may help my family member be able to talk about his disorder. It breaks my heart that he will have to go through pain and perhaps surgery in the near future, but I think this article might help him be able to both talk about and face what lies ahead, because right now, he won't even talk about it. He's only 18. :cry:

Both discussion boards are a great source of information and support.

My son has a plexiform tumor and kyphosis as well. He is a 3rd generation NFer. We both have NF1. Part of the Endurance team affiliated with CTF was just in Phoenix to run in the full and half marathon to help raise funds for research. Last week at DisneyWorld the Endurance team had over 150 runners. Remember that while your family member may have NF it does not have him.

2. It reminds me of

John Lennon's drawings. They should have a drawing for everybody to purchace a ticket for a buck. That way everybody has a chance and it would bring in a shit load of money. And if you win you can choose to take the drawing or $50,000 and then it goes to an Institution or museum. Think of what the lottery pulls in and think of how much money they could get. More than a note written by Bush. "When is Bathroom break?"

3. As one who has neurofibromatosis

I can vouch that this cartoon has helped spread the word about the disorder and helped raise funds for research. There is no cure for NF at this time, yet it affects 1 in 4,000.
