China not boosting South China Sea naval presence

BEIJING (AP) — China has no plans to beef up its naval presence in the South China Sea following a confrontation earlier this month between Chinese boats and a U.S. Navy ship, an official newspaper reported Friday.

The brief comment in the China Daily adds to apparent efforts by Beijing to tamp down the controversy surrounding the March 7 incident in which the USNS Impeccable was surrounded and harassed by Chinese boats.

"Top commanders do not have plans to increase the military presence in the South China Sea following a confrontation earlier this month between a U.S. spy ship and five Chinese vessels," the paper said, citing unidentified naval sources.

The report gave no additional information, although it quoted government-backed Chinese academics as saying Beijing wanted to put the incident to rest.

1. Meaning that test of Obama and how he reacts is over.
This was an obvious test of the Obama administration. They just wanted to see how he'd react. Would he pull the ships from the area, or would he stay and provide them support. Now they know.

2. Well, maybe, maybe not . .
.
.
.

China may just have aimed their missiles in a different direction as a result,

and use more subs rather than surface vehicles.

China is NOT gonna ignore the USA's presence near it's borders, land or sea

They just ain't gonna discuss it with the West.

Don't think China isn't watching and learning from the USA's invasions and occupations in the Middle East and Asia.

The shooting down of a satellite shoulda been a warning to the USA.

China knows how heavily the USA relies on satellites for their missile targeting and UAVs.

I imagine many of those satellites have missiles in China aimed right at them if push comes to shove . .

The whole World knows the USA can't fight a ground war.

They keep trying to fight ground wars from the air,

And losing . . . .
