Arizona State students scalping Obama commencement tickets

(CNN) -- Many Arizona State University seniors are relishing the chance to invite relatives to see President Obama give their commencement address.

Others would trade the opportunity for cash. And one might accept a lot of beer.

Some graduating ASU students -- allowed by the school to invite up to six guests -- apparently are selling their guest tickets to the May 13 commencement at Sun Devil Stadium. Sellers generally are asking $60 to $100 apiece on craigslist.org, and they're auctioning tickets on eBay. Others are selling by word of mouth.

One online seller said he wasn't inviting guests, in part because he wasn't going to the event.

2. If all goes well, I will be there.
If I do well enough, and if the ASU administration doesn't screw up processing my graduation application, I will be there, and I'm not selling my tickets to anyone.

3. Obama Honorary Degree
It is being reported in the media that the ASU faculty council has voted not to grant Obama an honorary degree as is usually conferred upon a commencement speaker for the reason that he does not have enough career accomplishments. Is this true?

Except the "career accomplishments" part is really code-speak for "he's black". :puke:

5. Yet some would say POTUS is the supreme "career accomplishment."
Oh well, he's only won it once, after all.

7. I suppose I could,
But then again both the students and the faculty here tend to have the IQ of mustard, so I doubt it would do much good.

I suppose I could fire off a few e-mails, not that anyone would care.

Frankly I've resigned myself to the fact that people here are quite bigoted and stupid, and I'll be glad just to get the hell out once I graduate.
