1 Million Tea Bags, But No Place to Dump
Source: MSNBC

It was a great idea, really. Take 1 million tea bags and dump them in Lafayette Park to protest government spending. Hip, hip, hoo-ray!

But a funny thing happened en route to a visually pleasing Tax Day protest. The National Park Service said the tea party protesters didn't have the proper permit to dump their bags.

So instead of a raucous visual demonstration, all that was left was images of the tea party packing up their boxes of tea on a cold, soggy day in D.C.

4. Support your local Billionaires.....one tea bag at a time!
If you frequent sites such as these, you now know that these so called grassroots tea parties are being manipulated by billionaires such as the Koch family and Steve Forbes.

There's a great web site link I found on another progressive site that you need to check out, then email the link to your friends.
It's called www.SaveTheRich.com

The original Ron Paul groupies' tea parties were hijacked by billionaires for their own agendas -- which do NOT include helping the poor taxpaying workers that are participating in these sham tea parties.

If you do attend one of these tea parties today, be sure to take a sign reading "sponsored by billionaires, for the benefit of billionares"

5. Terrific!
According to the article in the local paper, dumping tea into the river is 8 kinds of illegal, so they're going to throw boxes in instead.

Here's hoping they get popped for illegal fill or discharge. :P

7. I wonder what was planned for the tea bags afterwards?
A million would supply plenty of sustenance to rescue missions and soup kitchens. It would be surprising to learn the wingnuts had actually planned for something of the sort.

I know the snarky libs think they are being cute by calling us “teabaggers”. That’s fine by me, since they’ll be the ones being teabagged by us pretty soon. Come on, any gamer can tell you that you want to the one dishing out the teabagging, not the one being humiliated by receiving one.

from an Oriental market for about $3.00 per box. That's 3 cents per tea bag.

That would also require them to buy that Maoist Commie Tea!!!!

Take some risks! Just dump the damn teabags. The whole point of Civil Disobedience is doing your thing, permits be damned, and accepting the consequences.

Those folks in Boston in 1773 didn't need no stinking permits.

26. Seriously

Some kind of "revolution" these people are after.

"Uh, yeah, we were going to, um, you know, rebel against the oppression of a tyrannical government, but, uh, we didn't get a permit for that."

It's like the scene in _Take The Money And Run_ where Woody Allen is trying to rob a bank, and the teller says he has to get his hold up note signed by two bank VP's before the teller is allowed to give him any money.

What clods.

for their breaks and meetings. Terrific idea!

What a revolution! Imagine how ridiculous the Boston Tea Party people would have looked if they had asked nicely for a permit to dump their tea in the harbor. "We can't get a permit? Oh, okay. Can we leave it in your commander's office instead? Please?!"
