Poll says Minnesotans want Franken seated
Source: UPI

A poll released Wednesday reveals Minnesotans, by and large, want Republican Norm Coleman to concede the state's U.S. Senate race to Democrat Al Franken.

Public Policy Polling said its survey indicated 63 percent say Coleman should call it a day rather than continue to fight in court, USA Today reported. That percentage includes "almost all of Franken and (independent candidate) Dean Barkley's supporters, as well as a third of respondents who voted for Coleman last fall," the polling organization said.

Fifty-nine percent said Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a Republican, should certify Franken the winner and he should be seated immediately.

Politico reports Coleman has spent nearly $4 million on legal fees just since the start of the year. He raised $2.3 million this quarter but now has less than $500,000 on hand, the Washington publication said.

Franken has about the same amount left after spending $3.5 million this year and raising $2.6 million this quarter.

8. It should never have begun in the first place.
He couldn't win against Jesse "the Dumbass Body" Ventura and the ONLY reason he won in 2002 was due to Wellstone's untimely death just before the election. That was the ONLY reason he ended up in the senate, where he proceeded to be a do-nothing neocon-boot-licking Bushbot for his entire term. And his gravedancing just after Wellstone's death when he knew he'd likely win because of it was truly sickening and disgusting. He tried to hide it, but his giddiness was barely kept under control.

9. he "won" because of the media making a huge thing out of Wellstone's Memorial and Republicans
getting booed. and how the Dems were behaved badly. otherwise he would have lost against mondale and he certainly would have lost against Wellstone.

11. The thing that sucks
about the coverage of the memorial service is that 95% of us were tame and did not boo at the republicans, though it didn't get presented that way. Even when Trent Lott came in - my section did not boo - we hung our heads and continued to cry. I remember how gracious so many people were on both sides of the aisle - but it is too bad that the media blew it up into something that made it appear how the Dems were "out for blood" - or how we were espousing some kind of conspiracy theory against the GOP surrounding Paul's death. It is all so sad - the BEST senator we could ever wish and hope for, who ends up in this trash heap of a rat-controlled media dragging his name in the muck. I will NEVER forgive them for that.

And Normie can lie down with the rest of them - he lost this one, and he can't live with it. But he'll have to in a short while. D-bag.

6. Frankin legal fees
I have no links, but my memory tells me that there was a part of the court decision that said Coleman has to pay some of Al's legal fees. Anybody else remember that?

7. I was wondering about that...the last I read Franken was asking the

13. There has to be a better way...
It's ridiculous that they have spent millions in legal fees. That money could be spent on people that need it. There has to be a better way to count these ballots and stop this stupid pattern of going to court when your "feel" you've won an election.
