WASHINGTON, April 22 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took aim on Wednesday at former Vice President Dick Cheney, telling lawmakers she did not view him as a "particularly reliable source" on issues of torture.

Asked about Cheney's request this week to declassify documents showing the "success" of some widely condemned, harsh interrogation techniques launched by ex-President George W. Bush after the Sept. 11 attacks, Clinton had a caustic reply.

"It won't surprise you that I don't consider him (Cheney) a particularly reliable source," Clinton told the House of Representatives foreign affairs committee.

Clinton said she backed a "nonpolitical", "nonpartisan" review of the interrogation program. "I believe we ought to get to the bottom of this entire matter. I think it is in the best interest of our country and that is what the president believes," she said.

10. I've been waiting for someone to say this, and I think, far from being obvious...

...she should have spelled it out even more for the dumbfucks that believe Cheney. I mean look at what Cheney says, "There are memos that haven't been released that say our torture worked." Well, we have to take his word for that, don't we? Which means he gets to have his cake and eat it, too. The memos, if they exist, aren't out to prove him wrong, and if they don't exist, he can keep saying they do exist and haven't been released. Win-Win.

What Clinton really should have said is, "If Mr. Cheney will tell us exactly which memos on which date he's referring to, we'll get them released." Call him out. Because otherwise, you can keep releasing memos and he can keep saying, "there are unreleased ones that prove me right." How is anyone to know if he's telling the truth or lying about these "memos"?
