(Washington, DC) -- James von Brunn, the man accused of the Wednesday shooting of a guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum has vanished -- in a way.

"The Washington Post" has discovered nearly every sign of the man has disappeared from the Internet.

A Web site he'd hosted for years spewing hatred for all things Jewish can't be found today though it was easy to Google right after the shooting.

An online piece reportedly written by the alleged shooter titled "Obama Is Missing" and that questioned the citizenship of the President on FreeRepublic isn't there anymore.

Even a Wikipedia user page that the man had edited has been electronically scrubbed.

BTW, I've been over at DKos (under this same name) for well over a year and I blogged at HuffPo for a while before that and on the Yahoo discussion boards (since defunct) before that.

It varies by the welcomer. I just started doing this; I am trying to follow in the footsteps of someone who used to do this here...

My (very loose) guidelines are based on length of time AND number of posts. I figure if a post count is low ( < about 100 - 200) that person may not have been welcomed. I have been in the last two weeks (since I started this in earnest) welcoming people who have been here up to a year who have lower post counts. For the ones longer in the past, I say "Belated Welcome to DU!"...

So, it depends on who is welcoming you. It will probably stop soon...

So it's not just roaches running from the light. It's that these people know that what they are saying is wrong and the rest of the world does not agree and they are ashamed.

The words of James von Brunn need to be immortalized and hung like a giant albatross around the neck of all his like-minded friends so that the world can see just what kind of people these people really are.
