3. I think ABC is the most conservative of the big three.
And I think CBS is the most liberal. Any one of them is better at straight news reporting than any of the cable nets.

5. I wonder as well
Gibson wasn't that great to begin with, but Sawyer is pure fluff.

9. Shouldn't Gibson had made the announcement himself?
Why did the corporate empty suit made the announcement?

12. Rest of the article includes his personal comments...
I was copying this from an iPhone; text-capture and editing is tricky.

13. Ahhh, thanks for clarifying that
BTW, I read that Apple was going to end AT&T exclusive contract for iPhone, which would allow other carriers to compete. There is a problem in making iPhone compatible with Verizon's upcoming 4G network.

16. maybe the reason is that he's 66 and he doesn't want to do it anymore
Shit, I don't know when I will be able to retire, but I hope its by the time I'm 66. I can't think of another broadcast network news anchor, other than Dan Rather, who kept doing that job past age 65. Most retire earlier than that (or get pushed out).

19. He did not look healthy to me last time I saw him. Lost weight; looked drawn. He could
have been on a diet, though. If he wasn't, he is sick. JMO.

18. That's what I said. I have not watched ABC news in 10 or 12 years.
As far as I'm concerned, this Charlie fellow is the new guy.

25. And, most importantly, not worth watching. In the last 8 yrs PBS has...........
..........turned into mediocre pablum and C span has turned decidedly right too. I get my news from DU, Common Dreams, and Buzzflash. As far as TV, MSNBC, CNN, Link and Free Speech TV.

15. My (Nixon-loathing) mother is doing cartwheels in her casket right now.
She used to scream at the TeeVee whenever Diane Sawyer showed her face.

Well, my mom watched NBC anyway.

Seems like not much of a change from Charlie to Diane, frankly. Change in gender; that's about it.

And, by all accounts, today Nixon would have been considered liberal.

when GW pretended he was looking for the WMD?

I remember something like that was a deciding factor in why I was not a fan of Gipson's.

33. Replacing one liar with another.
Won't give me any incentive to switch, I'll still watch the BBC news, which tells the truth, something CBS, NBC and ABC don't do.
