Protester Defends Bringing Guns To Obama Rally
Source: Minneapolis Star Tribune

"I'm a pretty laid-back guy that loves his kids and his country," Hendrickson said.

He added, however, that he had just been released from jail a month earlier on an assault charge for pepper-spraying a customer at a Cub Foods in Brooklyn Center, where he worked as a security guard.

1. Oh, great. The moron did 60 days in jail for pepper spraying
an innocent customer in a parking lot while working security at a grocery store. And he's carrying two pistols around with him all the time. I just can't wait to hear from the gungeon-dwellers on this one. What defense will they offer for a man with a serious anger management problem carrying?

Uff da!

2. How the hell does he have a license to carry
if he just got out of jail? Huh? Are the laws that lax there?

5. The assault charge was, apparently, a misdemeanor.
Still, he has a record of violence in other cases. CCW should be pulled. It may be that the misdemeanor isn't enough. It should be, in my opinion.

I want to see a photo of him so I make sure to avoid this moron. A supermarket rent-a-cop...who needs that?

36. Does it say he has a concealed carry permit, or was he wearing his guns on his hip
In many places it is legal to carry a gun openly and no permit is needed.

and some security people. He was CCW.

be too late to pull his CCW permit.

Another fucking idiot. If these morons had an original thought it would die of loneliness. A bunch of other morons did this to make some kind of point and now this idiot is trying to make the same point that's already been made. Of course none of them has anything to contribute to the HEALTH CARE debate.

A security guard at a supermarket makes how much?

I wonder what his children had to do without?

34. They probably had to do without ...
$120 sneakers
$250 game console with 4-5 games at $50 each
$100 jeans
hundreds of dollars of other items that kids "need"

The average family can easily carve out $750 in savings if they really want to.

How much do you want to bet that this guy's significant other works and that he has a cell phone (at least $360 per year) and cable / satellite (at least $480 a year). The article did not say that was his only job, just that he worked there. Maybe he has 2 or 3 jobs.

$750 in a year is nothing to cut out of a budget if you really want to.

19. I was a rent-a-cop once at a grocery store.
If we ever got robbed, my plan was to hide in the produce section beind the watermelon until it was over. I wasn't about to be somekind of goddamn hero for $6.50 an hour. "Sir, someone is eating the donuts without paying for them!" Yeah, and? Tell the manager. Call the cops. What the fuck do you expect me to do about it? I had no arrest powers.

43. You and me both. what I can't stand about idiots like this is that he is doing his level
best to make us all look like nuts and if you ask me, it's people like him who I feel like threaten my freedom to carry and it's really making me furious...but then again...as I have stated before..half of those that took the class with myself I would never willingly put a loaded weapon in their outstretched hands..

I do think the laws need a bit of reforming to ensure the sane won't lose our rights because of people like the one above who is obviously attempting to make a statement but in a bad way..very bad..and someone is bound to get hurt especially when we are seeing the violence without weapons beginning again...

25. No, I think the woman he pepper-sprayed didn't get her car
completely between the lines of the parking space. That's a major offense, doncha know? When he yelled at her, she reached for her cell phone to call 911, so he hosed her down with the pepper spray.

The funniest thing of all is that, while he was working as a grocery store rent-a-cop, he wasn't even allowed to carry a firearm. I've never seen an armed security guard at the local Cub.

Off-duty, though, and he's armed, you betcha. Goin' to see the PresenUnitedStates...hell yes. He's just gotta be armed. At any moment, some Volvo-driving Obama supporter's bound to strike him with a paper sign.

Moron!

23. The 2nd Amendment is not a blank check for intimidation. Freedom of speech is not absolute either.
There needs to be a federal law that restricts the carrying of guns within so many hundreds or more feet of any federal representative or official by anyone other than police, security, or Secret Service.

I do agree with your premise though. I just think you need to make it X-hundred feet away from a function, not a person.

"Haw-haw, oh boy, look at me, look what I got - ain't I special?"
