Kerry Says Bush Hasn't Helped Elderly
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=694&ncid=703&e=2&u=/ap/20040309/ap_on_el_pr/kerry

CHICAGO - John Kerry (news - web sites), dismissive of the nation's prescription drug law, argued on Tuesday that President Bush (news - web sites) has offered little to help the elderly as the presumptive Democratic nominee looked to boost his wins with a four-state primary sweep.

The nomination locked up last week with the departure of chief rival John Edwards (news - web sites), Kerry focused on his November foe as he traveled from Florida, which joined Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas in voting Tuesday, to Illinois, site of a March 16 primary.

"It must be getting lonely for George Bush," Kerry said in an appearance with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. "It seems he's the last person left in America who actually believes his failed policies will ever work."

Kerry may soon get help from former rival Howard Dean (news - web sites), who was meeting with the nominee-in-waiting Wednesday to discuss a possible endorsement, sources said.

3. Maybe this will help.
The Wrong Prescription for America's Seniors
Earlier today, the Senate approved the Republican version of the Medicare/prescription drug bill on a vote of 54-44. Voting in favor of the bill were 42 Republicans, 11 Democrats, and 1 independent. Voting against the bill were 9 Republicans and 35 Democrats.

Following the passage of the bill, John Kerry released the following statement:

“I cancelled my campaign schedule to return to Washington to fight tooth and nail against this special interest giveaway with a Senate filibuster. We lost that critical vote and I returned to Iowa to take the fight for real, affordable prescription drug relief to the country as I run for President. I fought to stop this special interest giveaway because it offers the wrong prescription for America’s seniors.
"I am traveling on a bus today in Iowa with seniors who understand that this bill is a raw deal and who want to replace George W Bush with a President who has the courage to fight for a real prescription drug benefit that helps our seniors, instead of lining the pockets of drug companies and insurance companies.
"This vote was a big win for drug companies and a loss for America’s seniors. Seniors are going to find out that they were misled by the Bush Administration when they begin to feel the effects of a bill that does not give them more affordable prescription drugs or a quality Medicare plan that allows them to choose their own doctors and their own hospitals. I ask all seniors to stand with me as we take a stand against this sham.”

How about toning it down?
I suggest you get behind the Democratic nominee, or you can go elsewhere to vent.
He was not my first choice, but he is the last and the best.
Bush is going down, and Kerry is our guy.
Got a problem WITH THAT?

5. kher-heb......
your critique of Kerry seems to be more in line
with what a republican might say than a democrat.

We have suffered much under AWOL and this board
is finally seeing hope for a better future for
Americans through John Kerry.

I hope you find a way of seeing the good in this
man....
