U.S. hunts for English-speaking bombers
Christmas Day bomb suspect reveals plot
By Eli Lake

U.S. and allied counterterrorism authorities have launched a global manhunt for English-speaking terrorists trained in Yemen who are planning attacks on the United States, based on intelligence provided by the suspect in the attempted Christmas Day bombing after he began cooperating.

U.S. officials told The Washington Times that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, facing charges as a would-be suicide bomber, revealed during recent cooperation with the FBI that he met with other English speakers at a terrorist training camp in Yemen. Three U.S. intelligence officials, including one senior official, disclosed on the condition of anonymity some details of the additional bomb plots.

Said one official: "It's safe to say that Abdulmutallab is not the only bullet in the chamber for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula," the Islamist terrorist group based in Yemen.

"Farouk took a month to get operational. Once he left , it did not take very long," the official said.

5. Sounds like CYA to justify this:
Student detained at airport for carrying carrying Arabic-language flashcards

A Pomona College student who was found carrying Arabic-language flashcards while flying to California is suing two federal agencies for detaining him and allegedly questioning him abusively.

Nicholas George, 22, a senior physics major considering a career as a U.S. diplomat in the Middle East, is suing the Transportation Security Administration, the FBI and Philadelphia police for jailing him after his flashcards were found during screening at Philadelphia International Airport in August.

His lawsuit was filed in federal court this week.

George says he was treated like a terrorist and interrogated for nearly five hours at the airport.

7. Why would the moonie times undermine the current "shouldn't have been
Mirandized" talking points?

Seems that has been one of the most repeated comments in attacking the Obama admin for the past couple of weeks - and now we find out from this RW house organ that not only is the guy talking, but we're getting actionable intelligence from it?

Very strange combination indeed

"after he began cooperating."

Which of course was FROM THE START.... but don't tell anyone.

11. Pity those FBI guys, chasing after CIA assets that won't be found
well, that is, until the next Injection of Fear is required for the American Subject Populace.

But having some earnest FBI guys poking around sends verisimilitude to the whole garbage propaganda act.

Oh yeah, and "Bin Laden" is quoting liberal Jewish authors and he's awfully concerned about Global Warming.

Most people just refuse to believe that our information stream is as poisoned (or more so, owing to progress in the realms of totalitarian manipulations) as the 1970s Soviet Union.

One cannot believe the Corporate Media anymore than one could believe 1970s Soviet TASS or Isvestia.

People refuse to see it. Our Empire's biggest industry by far is The Lie Industry.

12. Corporate Media had better correct some of their past errors
or they won't have enough readership left to spread their press releases.

15. It's East Germany all over again
Back when there was an East Germany, the border guards used to pull me aside and grill me for an hour
and search my pockets because I spoke German too well.

Now we're going to have TSA people interrogating people at airports because their English was too fluent?
Take the train--it'll be faster.

16. Once the video of the Xmas bomber going through security in Demark
Then we'll know more about the Sharped Dressed Man that got him on the plane. But I don't see that happening. If the bomb had worked
everyone on that plane was collateral damage. Oops.
