BAGHDAD, Iraq - A car bomb blew up near a U.S. Air Force base north of the capital Monday, killing two Iraqi civilians and wounding 25 others, an Iraqi security official said. The U.S. military said a bomb killed a U.S. soldier and an Iraqi interpreter in Baghdad.

Two explosions Monday in the southern city of Basra wounded 13 British soldiers, but none of the wounds was life-threatening, British Defense Ministry officials said in London.

In Helsinki, the Finnish Foreign Ministry said two Finnish businessmen were shot and killed in Baghdad on Monday. They were part of a nine-person Finnish technological delegation visiting the Iraqi capital, ministry spokesman Markus Lyra said.

"The men were on their way to the Ministry of Electricity to make business contacts as part of a larger group," Lyra said. He did not identify the victims.

U.S. Soldier, Interpreter Killed in Iraq Attack

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Anti-American insurgents killed a U.S. soldier and an Iraqi interpreter with a roadside bomb as they were carrying out a patrol west of Baghdad, the U.S. military said Monday.

The incident took place Saturday evening as a group of soldiers were moving through the volatile district of Abu Ghraib on the western outskirts of the capital.

"A Task Force 1st Armored Division soldier and an Iraqi interpreter were killed and three other soldiers were wounded during an (improvised explosive device) attack on March 21," a statement from the U.S. military said.

The deaths raise to 396 the number of U.S. soldiers and Marines killed in action since American forces invaded Iraq (news - web sites) to overthrow Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) a year ago.

3. Lovely, just some more of the same old same old. This administration
should get down on their hands and knees and beg forgiveness to the God that they profess to believe in so damn much. Because I don't believe ANYBODY'S God would not condemn this as a totally unforgivable sin. These death's are on the hand's of this administration, and one day, maybe not in this lifetime, I truly believe they will pay.

I pray the someday, as they're near death themselves, that the spirits of the dead come to haunt them, telling them exactly what they did. But unlike Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, there will be NO CHANCE to make it right.

4. But Congress said the world is safer now
They passed a resolution and everything. Guess the Iraqi resistance didn't get the memo.

5. No wonder we havent heard from Michael in 4 days
He is at Abu Ghuraib. I can hardly stand this, I dont know what he must be seeing or hearing, I havent heard from him for 4 days. This is too terrifying for me to hear, but I have to live with the truth, and now I guess this is why we havent heard from him, perhaps they are on some sort of lockdown or they cant email. God, protect him and keep him alive and bring him home to us, please.
