Protesters call for review of Iraq war
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Inc.

Local peace activists called Wednesday for an independent commission to review President Bush's justification for the war on Iraq. ---

Earlier this month, the Senate rejected a proposal to create an independent bipartisan commission to look into the matter. Wisconsin Sens. Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold, both Democrats, backed the measure, which failed 45- 51.

"I do not believe that anyone set out to mislead the American people," Feingold said in a statement released by his office Wednesday. "But I am concerned that, in this instance, a desire to bolster the case for a policy decision overrode procedures that should work to preserve the president's credibility with the American people and with the rest of the world."

The rally drew people representing the Wisconsin chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility, Peace Action Wisconsin, Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice and Education for the People.

2. Ya and they shold have an independent review of the oil revenue too.
Why don't they print up a monthly news flyer that states how much oil they are pumping and revenue generated and what the money is being spent on? Since the US is going to nationalize their oil for them. Use all that money to build schools and hospitals and everyone will have free healthcare and and and....

SHit. Like thats gonna happen..... When has the US ever let any country use the Oil(Natural resources) to benefit it own citizens of their country??? Seems like everytime a country does decide to do this, we either coup their government or invade them.

they haven't even mentioned anything in this matter, not even to the US citezens.....

And whatever happened to those billions found in one of those UN (oil for food) bank accounts?

If the invasion wasn't for OIl then lets see them prove it!!!!!

3. let's hope this spreads
I cannot figure out why more of the groups that got started in the run-up to the war have not been encouraging people to get back into the streets and demand the truth!!!!! I never really left the streets and I amazed that so many have. We need to get back out there en masse and demand answers. I am so sick of them telling us the same things over and over and no one demanding the evidence for it.
