Officers subdue 2 men near Obama's motorcade(Last Night)

Secret Service officers have subdued two men who refused to get out of the street as President Barack Obama's motorcade was returning to the White House.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan says Obama was returning Thursday night from a school event for one of his daughters when the men refused to move out of the way of the presidential motorcade. A uniformed Secret Service officer was seen lying on top of one man and another officer wrestled with the second man.

Donovan says the men, who were using profanity, were charged with assaulting a police officer and failure to obey a lawful order. He didn't have their identities.

Donovan says the incident appeared to be a random event and not an organized attempt to block the president's motorcade.

OTOH, they could be test subjects, deliberately blocking the way so others can gauge how and where the motorcade was delayed or diverted as a result of their action. Supposed to be, the motorcade never takes the exact same route, but if they find that the default diversion from Route A is Diversion 1, then they can make their plans.

There are, after all, a limited number of ways to get from point A to point B, and some crazies would love to be able to guarantee that the motorcade would go where they want it to go.

Six and a half more years is a long time to hold my breath.

The Secret Service does not stop the Presidential Motorcade for obvious reasons (ambush etc) and these dumb asses could have been run over.
