BP phone operator says calls from concerned citizens fall on deaf ears
Source: khou

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas—A contracted operator with BP said calls from concerned citizens are falling on deaf ears.

For this story, we’ll refer to her as "Janice."

Janice told 11 News she’s one of 100 operators at the BP Call Center in West Houston. They answer phones from the hotline number designated for the Vessel of Opportunity Program and for cleanup ideas.

"We take all your information and then we have nothing to give them, nothing to give them," said Janice.

1. Time to outsource the call center
to somewhere in India where there will be no pesky reporters mixing with employee consciences.

I work in a financial industry call center. I guarantee your complaints, verbal or written, go *nowhere.* In fact, my manager has said straight out, "They have millions of accounts. They don't care about *your* millions."

No reason to think "big oil" is any different, especially now that they're in deep shit. Or rather, we're all in deep shit thanks to their malfeasance. :(

5. Yesterday some little blue links to this site
Were posted by a DUer who foisted them off as serious methods to volunteer. Blue links for every occasion, links to nowhere.

6. Why hasn't the government set up our own call center? Why leaving it to BP who does *not* want
anything documented and who will work against anyone who calls?

Corruption.
