GOP Sweep Michigan's Executive and Judicial Offices; U.S. House Democrats Dingell and Peter Hold Lea
Source: Reach Out Job Search

n the Michigan's Governor, Attorney General and Secretary of State offices, Republicans have gained control of all three offices. The states' next Governor will be former Gateway C.E.O. and Venture Capitalist Rick Snyder (R) has defeated Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero (R) with the projected results of 59 percent to 37 percent.

Detroit WXYZ Channel 7 has projected that former Michigan's 4th District Court of Appeals Bill Schuette (R) has won the Michigan Attorney General’s race, defeating Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton by a vote total of 53 percent to 43 percent. In the race for Secretary of State WXYZ is projecting that Oakland County Clerk and Tea Party Candidate Ruth Johnson (R) will defeat Wayne State University Professor Jocelyn Benson by a 52 percent to 44 percent margin.

The only positive news for the night for Democrats, based on WXYZ projections, in the U.S. House races as Congressman Gary Peters (D) holds a 50 percent to 46 percent lead over Rocky Raczkowski (R) for Michigan 9th District.

Congressman John Dingell (D) for Michigan’s 15th District, who has served in the as a U.S. Representative since 1955, leads in his race over Dr. Rob Steele (R) by a similar 50 to 46 percent margin.

Peters and Dingell are holding on. This would be the only positive news for the night for Michigan's Democrats.

4. Scary times in Michigan.....indeed....
Let's hope that Congressmen Gary Peters and John Dingell pull it out tonight. At least we will have both of them, in the U.S. House. Our great state, meanwhile, is lost........

9. Guess they plan on selling the cooler temp land there to the highest bidder, eh?
I was looking at upper MI property in hopes of maybe moving there in a year or so. Oh well........ sad to say but that area will be trashed, mined, exploited and taken over by big money interests.

10. I shudder to think of it.
I got a lot of family up there. I'd thought, if I could ever afford to, I'd like to buy some land up there myself.

That is some beautiful land, up there. It'll be a shame to see it go.
