Domenico Montanaro writes: House Democrats, unhappy with the possibility that the Bush tax cuts could be extended even for those in the top income brackets -- making more than $250,000 a year -- have brought to the floor a bill that would extend the tax cuts for those making less than $250,000 a year.

NBC's Luke Russert reports that speaker-in-waiting John Boehner is unhappy with the move, calling it "chicken crap" and "nonsense." He derided it as a maneuver that undermines negotiations with the White House on a compromise for the tax cuts that expire Jan. 1.

I would like to see the middle class tax cut extended now. Let the Republicans take the full blame for the harm done by extending the cuts to the super rich. Who does Obama think elected him now? And why should we support him in 2012? Is he giving grass-roots Democrats, ordinary Americans any reason to want him to be re-elected? I think not. He plays to the front rows, not to the balcony. Any time a crumb of Obama's policies reaches those of us in the cheap seats, it's just an accident.

And as for Hillary, she is just an old-fashioned war-monger if the Wikileaks are any indication. We need to have our own Democratic Party tea-party. We need to retake our party and make it work for us and not just for the extremely wealthy and the defense industry.
