Poll: Support erodes for Bush's handling of Iraq (* at 43% Job Approval)
Edited on Tue Apr-06-04 02:50 AM by JCMach1
BUSHco is at 43% job approval... You should have seen the 'pundits' try to spin this on CNN International this morning.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bush's overall job approval is at 43 percent, a low point for his presidency, according to a poll released Monday by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. Forty-seven percent disapprove of Bush's job performance.

Bush's job approval soared to 90 percent after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, and remained in the 70s for almost a year after that. In mid-January, 56 percent approved of his overall performance.

In the aftermath of last week's grisly deaths of four contractors in Fallujah, 53 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Bush is handling Iraq, while 40 percent approve. Six in 10 approved in mid-January...

5. Johnson was at 46% and dropped out of the race...
That should be a pretty good measure of what it means.

7. However...............
"Public support for the decision to use military force in Iraq has not changed. The poll found that 57 percent think the United States made the right decision to use military force about the same as in early February".

Who ARE these people? That means there are about 8% of the people in this country, beyond his rabid, frothing at the mouth base, that still believe the Chimp in Chief did the right thing in weakening the war on terrorism by invading Iraq.

Do these f***ing people live in a vacuum? Have they not listened to one word that the commission on terrorism has said? These are the people that must be targeted for the November election. Bush is always going to have his mad dog base that will vote for him no matter what. However, those 8% or so need to be educated SOMEWAY on the incredibly inept efforts of the Bush administration to handle the war on terrorism. Who ARE these people?

8. They bought the freedom and democracy spin
given by BUSHco

They just don't want Americans dying for Iraqi freedom...

One of the internal contradictions with the American public.

15. Support the Troops.
Many people have a hard time separating support for military action for support for the troops.

'Military action was Good, but Bush screwed it up,' gets us where we want to go right now.

18. It's ABOUT G-D TIME!!!
Sorry to shout in the header, but I don't understand this country, nor how his approval rating, even with slanted poll questions and conservative "press" at his service could EVER have stayed so high for so long.

Maybe now, with both feet and one hand stuck in the Iraq tarbaby, things will begin to slide further. I sure as hell hope so!
