Vikings-Eagles Moved to Tuesday Night
Source: Traverse City Record-Eagle

NEW YORK (AP) — The NFL moved the Vikings at Eagles game from Sunday night to Tuesday because of an expected blizzard that could dump up to 20 inches snow on Philadelphia.

The game will be played at 8 p.m. EST., and will be televised by NBC.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter declared a snow emergency as of 2 p.m. EST Sunday.

In announcing the postponement, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said on Twitter that the league was wary of “public safety concerns” and the “uncertainty of snow emergency” in Philadelphia on Sunday night. . .

3. Can they just move the game to Minneapolis?
Or, if the roof's not fixed, Detroit's Ford Field should be available again.

:hi:

4. Why? So what if there's forty feet of snow on the ground.
The game will be broadcast, so no one other than the teams actually HAVE to go out in the weather.

It would be instructive to be able to see a re-broadcast of the Ice Bowl, December 31, 1967, Dallas at Green Bay. Everyone's a wimp these days.

15. I saw a game like that once
It was maybe '68, maybe '69-- That time, it was Minnesota vs. Green Bay. Zero degrees F or so. The memorable play of that game was when a Minnesota player was about to get tackled and he flipped the ball off to a teammate who then ran through a snowdrift to make a touchdown.

6. There he goes
thats what you'd hear almost every lions game when Barry Sanders was still playing, referring to Sanders.
What a fun guy he was to watch play football.
I'll be pulling for the vikings as I'm a Adrian (all day)) Peterson fan

9. the first weather-related NFL postponement that I can recall.
a deprivation for fans of these bad weather games. let's face it, they have kind of "cinematic" beauty, esp when blizzards are involved. and all the romance of sitting by the fire, and watching these memorable battles. one thinks of Green Bay of old and New England of present day lore.

14. I live in Philly
lots of Eagles fans tend to start tailgating (a.k.a. drinking heavily) 8 - 10 hours before a game. I, for one, would hate to see 50,000 drunk drivers leaving the Link and getting on I-95 at midnight during blizzard conditions. :scared:

It's one thing to be sitting home by the fire watching on TV but.....

8. Who plays the Vikings next?
I want to know where the next snow storm is going to be. I hope its not Miami.

These guys just can't get away from it.

10. Last game of the season is at Detroit
So unless Ford Field collapses this next week there should be a game next week.

13.  Vikings voo-doo residual from playoffs
Saints fans used bad ju-ju on Vikings last year in playoffs. When does that stuff wear off, anyway?
 Enuff is enuff.
