Dem voted to defund net neutrality out of concern for 'cost hikes'
Source: The Hill

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) voted to prevent the FCC from using funds to implement net-neutrality rules out of concern for "cost hikes."

Cuellar was one of ten Democrats who voted in favor of the amendment.

"Net neutrality creates unnecessary burdens on service providers, which will inevitably be passed on to consumers. We should be working to expand broadband access, especially to underserved communities; and not limiting expansion by creating an environment for imminent cost hikes," he said.

The amendment to House spending bill was offered by Communications subcommittee Chairman Greg Walden (Ore.). It passed Thursday evening.

5. Cuellar is a total piece of shit.
He voted to defund it because he is a corporate plutocracy whore. By the way Tony, we are already, us net consumers, paying for bandwidth, as are all the content providers. Net neutrality, simply put, forbids the carriers from discriminating based on the content being carried. It forbids CableClown from slowing down Netflix packets on their way to your TV.

7. Hey Cuellar! Net Neutrality is not about cost hikes
it's about FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

You swore to defend the Constitution, you idiot! DEFEND IT!

8. It's also basically the status quo
I'm not sure how "let's keep doing this the way we have been for decades" is going to cause cost hikes; the whole argument is absurd.
