Baghdad on strike against Fallujah offensive
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/04/11/1081326987895.html

April 11, 2004 - 12:18AM

Most of Baghdad closed down yesterday after a prominent religious leader called for a strike to protest against the US military's bloody offensive against insurgents in Fallujah.

Most shops, banks, government ministries and schools across the capital kept their door closed, particularly in the Sunni Muslim neighbourhood of Aadhamiya, in sympathy with the restive town where hundreds have died.

The neighbourhood's main Mustansiriya University was deserted.

More good news from Iraq today. Someone needs to let Rummie know, that we're not in control of Iraq anymore. Were we ever?

1. "Were we ever in control?" Only in the warped minds of some -
- some of the world's most evil criminals.

2. You can count on someone spinning it positive tomorrow morning...
They're always optimistic and confident.

3. I've got it
they all suddenly decided to convert to christianity and shut down Baghdad so they could get ready for Easter?

Why do I get the feeling, that tomorrow is going to be a really bad day?

4. The occupation is bringing a healthful rest phase for Iraqi workers
Alternatively, now that Saddam is out of the way, the people are free to engage in general strikes.
