Bush may have known about 9/11

Different spin and a nice headline from the Economic Times...

"President George W Bush was told a month before September 11, ‘01, that Al Qaeda members were in the US and the FBI had detected suspicious activity “consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks”, according to a secret memo the White House released under pressure on Saturday....

...National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice insisted in her public testimony to the 9/11 commission last week that the memo contained mostly historical information and did not warn of any impending attacks inside the United States.

Her account could be contradicted by the fact that the memo included information from three months beforehand that al Qaeda members were trying to enter the United States for an attack with explosives.

“The FBI is conducting approximately 70 full field investigations throughout the US that it considers Bin Laden-related. CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our Embassy in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) in May saying that a group of Bin Laden supporters was in the US planning attacks with explosives,” the document said...."

If she stated under oath that the PDB was only "historical data" but its release reveals otherwise, isn't the Precious looking at perjury charges?

I would think so. There are several uses of present tense in the document, so I'm thinking the "historical document" lie should be obvious to spot.
