Bush says it's "hard to tell" if casualties will keep mounting in Iraq
(Fort Hood, Texas-AP) April 11, 2004 - President Bush says more American casualties may come in Iraq, but, "we're plenty tough."

Bush attended an Easter Sunday service at Fort Hood, Texas, a base that has lost at least nine service members in the past week of fighting.

. . . .

Bush met with 11 soldiers at a military hospital, awarding Purple Heart medals to 10 of them.

1. We're plenty tough
That would be the royal "we" not the actual "we."

I find it hard to tell if I will continue to obey the civil authorities in this country when the supposed leader speaks out of his bunghole like that.

3. It's easy to be tough
if you've never seen combat. It's easy to send people off to war when you and yours are safely at home. It's easy to be reckless with foreign policy when you've never personally faced danger.

the empathy gene. there is something very emotionally vacant about bush. Can't wait for the bush on the Couch book to come out and identify and name his psychoses and neuroses and psychological impairments.

35. As much as I dislike Bush's policies, God's damnation won't help.
If anything Bush needs God's grace. And I mean the real stuff the 'Amazing Grace' ... 'once lost and now found, blind but now I see'.

I don't hate Bush at all.
Hate is what brought about 'shock and awe'.

I pray that Bush is awakened to see the humanity in the Iraqi people;
a humanity that is yearning for freedom and peace.

Besides damning Bush to hell is counterproductive because it only would make Cheney President.

40. It wasn't hate
That got us in Iraq. STUPIDITY, GREED, AND FALSE PRIDE got us into Iraq, so Mari is right to damn the chimp* to hell. Besides chaindrive is right behind this fucking moron*.

Yesterday Lunaville had the dead toll at 651, the very first thing I do after I read the news is go to Lunaville for the casualty count, so far today it was 674.
That's a pretty big jump over night, they're letting the cat out of the bag by inches.

10. No it is hard to tell as in
1. It is hard to tell when and where the terrorists will hit
after hijacking a plane in NYC's vicinity OR
2. It is hard to tell who leaked the name of Ms.Plame to Novak.
OR
3. It is hard to tell why he was AWOL from the TANG. OR

and so on. You get the drift.

In case there are some of you who don't know this very old joke, it goes like this. Tonto and the Lone Ranger are surrounded by hundreds of Indians. The Lone Ranger turns to Tonto and asks "What do we do now, Tonto?" Tonto replies: "What do you mean "we" paleface?

17. The good news about this is
The AP story was entitled "Bush celebrates Easter with Troops in Fort Hood". But this reporter decided to retitle the news item in their own way highlighting this awful attitude of Bush&Co.

And it is in South Carolina! So some reporters are doing their job.

I was thinking - what a moron of course casualties will keep mounting.

But on reading the article thats not what he said and they twisted it around when they made the headline.

39. Huh?
One paragraph talks about how almost 50 Americans and over 500 Iraqis have been killed in the past week's violence.

The next paragraph says that Bush said it's hard to tell if such violence (that killed all of these people) will continue.

I don't think the meaning's twisted. The headline doesn't put quotation marks around anything he didn't say, and its conclusion follows from the information in the paragraph.

handed to him on a silver platter, and has never worked an honest day in his entire,
miserable life....has the unmitigated gall to pronounce "we're plenty tough" - attempting to
include his sorry ass self.....what a laughable load of shit.

His worthless twin daughters should sign up immediately and be shipped off to Iraq, along with
that annoying relative Billy Bush from the entertainment show - whose offspring is he anyway?
Doesn't Jeb have military age kids too? What are the young Bushes waiting for? They should
set the example. If Iraq is such a great idea and Bushes are so tough, why aren't they putting their
pampered asses on the line?

45. Casualty - a euphemism for blighted lives - for
maimed, broken, damaged, wounded. It's as if it all happened by accident and the dead are fallen, not dead. But that is just a part of his language problems. Less and few - there is a difference. the fool should get up off his knees and throw himself at the feet of the families who are irreparably damaged because of his folly and plead and beg their forgiveness.
