Iraq Said Spark for UN Kosovo Police Fight, 3 Die
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA, Serbia and Montenegro (Reuters) - Two Americans and a Jordanian were shot dead in Kosovo Saturday when emotions over Iraq (news - web sites) apparently boiled over into a gunbattle between members of the U.N. law enforcement mission.

U.N. police spokesman Neeraj Singh said two U.S. police officers and a Jordanian were killed and 10 Americans and one Austrian wounded in the shooting.

The lethal firefight between fellow members of the U.N. force was unprecedented in five years of peacekeeping in Kosovo, where police of some 30 nations make up the international force of around 3,500.

The 10-minute shootout took place in the U.N. compound in ethnically divided Mitrovica -- a city that is more commonly the scene of clashes between Serbs and Albanians, in which U.N. police and NATO (news - web sites) troops intervene to keep the peace.

2. Once, respected and admired all over the world, Americans are now targets
everywhere in the world. Some things money can't buy. We have no honor or dignity to spend anymore. Bush and his unholy regime has not only squandered opportunites, they have squandered our nation's reputation, good will, national and international security, and the peace of the world. Those who align theirselves with us, contrary to the will of their people, will suffer for generations because of the un-elected President and his pack with the evil Sharon government and the PNAC agenda.

3. Disgusting
There were just as many dead as in the assasination of the leader of Hamas, and more injured, and it didn't make worldwide headlines. The assasination did.

Absolutely disgusting media bias. As if an injured Palestinian is somehow worth more than an injured Austrian, or a dead Palestinian worth more than a dead American.

Appalingly disgusting media bias.
